Regular Season Round 15: Joventut - Viladecans 32-49

There was a minor upset in Badalona where 4th placed Joventut (10-6) was defeated by sixth ranked Viladecans (10-6) 49-32 on Sunday. Viladecans held Joventut to an opponent 18.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 33.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Viladecans had a 37-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Silvia Marcelo (188-93) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Elena Silva (173-93) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Paula Curto (175-97) who recorded 10 points and 6 rebounds and Slovenian forward Elma Dautovic (187-1) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Viladecans moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Joventut. Viladecans will face Casablanca (#7) in Zaragoza in the next round. Joventut will play on the road against the league's leader Barca CBS in Barcelona and hope to win that game.
