Regular Season Round 7: Cecina - Piombino 77-68

Very expected game when 15th ranked Piombino (1-6) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Cecina (3-4) 77-68 on Sunday. Cecina shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. It was a great evening for Alessandro Ceparano (200-1) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Lorenzo Pistillo (195-97) helped adding 20 points (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). Cecina's coach Roberto Russo used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side swingman Saverio Mazzantini (195-95, agency: Players Group) responded with 16 points and Mirco Turel (195-94) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Cecina moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 9 other teams. Loser Piombino keeps the fifteenth position with six games lost. Cecina will face Firenze (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Piombino will play against the league's second-placed San Miniato and hope to win that game.
