Very expected game when 12th ranked Fiorenzuola (2-5) was defeated at home by second ranked Piacenza (6-1) 78-69 on Sunday. Piacenza made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Piacenza outrebounded Fiorenzuola 43-32 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Piacenza especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. It was a great evening for forward Marco Planezio (198-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian guard Sebastian Vico (190-86) helped adding 8 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side swingman Milo Galli (195-95) responded with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Andrea Maggiotto (190-88, agency: SLN) scored 13 points and 4 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Piacenza. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Faenza and San Miniato. Newly promoted Fiorenzuola dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. Piacenza will face league's leader Vigevano at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fiorenzuola will play against Cremona (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
