Regular Season Round 22: Slask - Anwil 107-77
Date: January 19, 2021
Very predictable result in Wroclaw where fourth ranked WKS Slask (15-6) outscored 13th ranked Anwil (8-14) 107-77 on Tuesday. WKS Slask shot 64.9 percent from the field and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. WKS Slask looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Elijah Stewart (196-95, college: USC) fired 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The other American import power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: NC State) chipped in 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) produced 14 points and 4 assists and the former international power forward Krzysztof Sulima (204-90) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. WKS Slask have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Anwil keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. WKS Slask will face Start (#4) in Lublin in the next round. Anwil will play at home against MKS DG (#10) and hope to win that game.
