An interesting game for Keflavik (4-0) which played road game in Hafnarfjordur against 3rd ranked Haukar (3-3). Top-ranked Keflavik managed to get a 10-point victory 67-57. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Keflavik outrebounded Haukar 42-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. Venezuelan Daniela Wallen (180-95, college: Okla City) notched a double-double by scoring 31 points and 23 rebounds to lead the effort and Anna Svansdottir (172-1) supported her with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Keflavik's coach Jon Gudmundsson used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by American swingman Alyesha Lovett (183-93, college: Cincinnati) did not help to save the game for Haukar. International swingman Briet Hinriksdottir (181-96) added 17 points. Keflavik have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Loser Haukar dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Breidablik. Keflavik will meet at home Valur (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Haukar will play against KR in Reykjavik and hope to secure a win.
