Regular Season Round 8: Pozzuoli - Rieti 62-87

Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Rieti (8-0) outleveled on the road 7th ranked Pozzuoli (2-6) 87-62 on Saturday. Rieti dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Pozzuoli's 26. The best player for the winners was swingman Federico Loschi (197-90) who scored 13 points. Center Marco Di Pizzo (204-98) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Five Rieti players scored in double figures. Rieti's coach Alex Righetti felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Bosnian Emin Mavric (203-98) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Niccolo Lurini (198-0, agency: Players Group) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Rieti have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Newly promoted Rieti maintains first position with 8-0 record. Pozzuoli lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with six games lost. Rieti will face Formia (#4) at home in the next round. Pozzuoli will play against Sant Antimo in Napoli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
