The game in Poznan supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Polkowice (14-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Poznan (7-8). Polkowice smashed Poznan 86-59 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Poznan. Polkowice dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Poznan's 20. Polkowice forced 19 Poznan turnovers. American forward Keisha Hampton (188-90, college: DePaul) stepped up and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and international center Weronika Telenga (192-95) chipped in 18 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Serbian point guard Jovana Popovic (173-90) responded with 21 points and American point guard Tiffany Brown (168-86, college: Georgia South) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Poznan's coach Grzegorz Zielinski gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Polkowice have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 14-1 record having just one point less than leader Arka Gdynia. Poznan at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Polkowice will meet Wroclaw (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Poznan will play against Bydgoszcz and hope to secure a win.
