Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Arxil Pontevedra (5-11) beat at home 13th ranked Rosalia (4-13) 53-48 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Arxil Pontevedra forced 21 Rosalia turnovers. Point guard Carla Fernandez (168-89) fired 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Noelia Masia (183-98) chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds. Brazilian center Leticia Soares (185, college: San Diego) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and Sara Corredoira (-0) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Arxil Pontevedra maintains ninth position with 5-11 record. Rosalia lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Arxil Pontevedra will face higher ranked GDKO Bizkaia (#6) in Galdakao in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
