Very expected game when 8th ranked Catz Lappeenranta (4-14) was smashed on the road by second ranked Espoo Team (13-4) 74-54 on Saturday. Espoo Team forced 24 Catz Lappeenranta turnovers and outrebounded them 50-38 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Hannah Little (186-94, college: Oakland) nailed a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winning side and forward Lotta Vesiluoma (172-97) accounted for 22 points and 4 steals. American point guard Jordan Jones (168-93, college: Texas A&M) came up with 9 points and 14 rebounds and the former international forward Veera Pirttinen (180-97) added 18 points and 5 steals (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for Catz Lappeenranta in the defeat. Espoo Team maintains second place with 13-4 record despite having the same number of points like the leader PeKa, which they share with FoA. Catz Lappeenranta at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Espoo Team will meet at home Tapiolan Honka (#4) in the next round. Catz Lappeenranta will have a break next round.
