Regular Season Round 7: KR - Haukar 65-79

Bottom-ranked KR (0-6) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to fifth ranked Haukar (4-3) 79-65 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Haukar. KR managed to win third quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American swingman Alyesha Lovett (183-93, college: Cincinnati) fired 20 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. The former international forward Eva Kristjansdottir (180-97) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Haukar's coach Bjarni Magnusson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Finnish forward Annika Holopainen (185-93, college: ODU) produced 31 points and 6 rebounds and American point guard Taryn McCutcheon (165, college: Michigan St., agency: LBM Management) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Haukar moved-up to third place. KR lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Haukar will meet Skallagrimur (#5) in the next round. KR will play against the league's leader Keflavik and hopes to get finally their first victory.
