Regular Season Round 23: Slask - Start 91-77

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Start (14-7) lost to third ranked WKS Slask (16-6) in Wroclaw 77-91. WKS Slask made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. WKS Slask outrebounded Start 36-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. WKS Slask brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American guard Elijah Stewart (196-95, college: USC) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: NC State) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five WKS Slask players scored in double figures. American center Devin Searcy (208-89, college: Dayton) responded with 21 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Kacper Borowski (205-94) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for WKS Slask. They moved-up to second place. Start at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. WKS Slask will play against Trefl (#6) in Sopot in the next round. Start will play on the road against GTK in Gliwice and hopes to get back on the winning track.
