There was no surprise when 12th ranked Fiorenzuola (2-6) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Cremona (5-3) 91-84 on Sunday. Cremona made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Fiorenzuola was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Marco Bona (189-89) who scored 25 points and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Naturalized Latvian forward Gints Antrops (201-82) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Cremona's coach Simone Lottici used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international power forward Giovanni Allodi (206-94, agency: SLN) produced 20 points and 9 rebounds and forward Federico Ricci (196-97) added 17 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Four Fiorenzuola players scored in double figures. Cremona moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 8 other teams. Fiorenzuola lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Cremona will face Pavia (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Fiorenzuola will play against Olginate and hope to win that game.
