The biggest surprise took place in Keflavik where host Keflavik (5-0) crushed league's leader Grindavik (4-1) 94-67 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Grindavik. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Keflavik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Keflavik outrebounded Grindavik 44-32 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian center Dominykas Milka (203-92, college: St.Rose, NY) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. American guard CJ Burks (190-95, college: Marshall) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Olafur Olafsson (194-90) who recorded 18 points and 6 rebounds and Estonian forward Joonas Jarvelainen (202-90) added 21 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keflavik have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Grindavik at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Stjarnan. They were replaced at the leadership position by Keflavik. Grindavik will play next round against Njardvik trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Keflavik will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Stjarnan on the road.
