Regular Season Round 4: Breidablik - Fjolnir 106-89

Everything could happen in Kopavogur at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Breidablik and 5th ranked Fjolnir had identical 1-1 record. This time Breidablik used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Reykjavik 106-89. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Breidablik. Fjolnir was better in third quarter 30-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Fjolnir 46-35 including 16 on the offensive glass. Breidablik players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Sam Prescott (190-90, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: SDJ Sports) who helped to win the game recording 32 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Arni Hrafnsson (187-98) who added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Norwegian power forward Johannes Dolven (206-96, college: Barry) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 20 rebounds and American point guard CJ Carr (173-95, college: MSSU, agency: Green Sports Management) scored 26 points, 8 assists and 6 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Breidablik (2-1) moved-up to second place, which they share with Hrunamenn. Fjolnir at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Breidablik will play against league's leader Hamar on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fjolnir will play against Vestri (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
