Regular Season Round 15: MuKi - Raiders Basket 79-81
Date: January 26, 2021
Rather predictable result in Helsinki where sixth ranked Raiders Basket (6-8) edged 10th ranked MuKi (3-9) 81-79 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But MuKi won second period 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Joshua Wilchcombe (203-94, college: OKWU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. His fellow American import guard Jordan Jacks (196-94, college: KWC) helped adding 15 points and 4 steals. Wilchcombe is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Raiders Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Joonas Timonen (189-0) with 19 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Markus Rautasalo (180-0) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Raiders Basket went down to eighth position (1st Division) due to points difference. Loser MuKi keeps the tenth place with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
