The game in Borganes was also quite interesting. Third ranked Haukar (5-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Skallagrimur (3-4). Haukar managed to secure a 6-point victory 65-59 on Wednesday. Skallagrimur trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 21-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 59-65 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Skallagrimur 52-37 including a 41-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Haukar looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Alyesha Lovett (183-93, college: Cincinnati) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Eva Kristjansdottir (180-97) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Canadian forward Nikita Telesford (185-97, college: Concordia) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Keira Robinson (176-94, college: VCU) scored 23 points and 4 assists. Haukar maintains third position with 5-3 record behind leader Keflavik. Skallagrimur lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with four games lost. Haukar will meet at home Snaefell (#7) in the next round. Skallagrimur will play against the league's leader Keflavik and hope to secure a win.
