Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Campobasso (6-11) beat on the road 12th ranked Sassari (3-14) 89-73 on Wednesday. Campobasso dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Sassari's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Sassari's players. International guard Maddalena Gorini (180-92) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Julie Wojta (185-89, college: Green Bay, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Campobasso's coach Domenico Sabatelli used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Kennedy Burke (185-97, college: UCLA, agency: Wasserman) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Margherita Mataloni (165-95) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Campobasso maintains ninth position with 6-11 record. Sassari lost fifth consecutive game. Sassari at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Campobasso will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sassari will play again against Campobasso (#9) and hope to secure a win.
