Regular Season Round 7: KR - Thor Thorl 77-107

Another interesting game for Thor Thorl (4-2) which played in Reykjavik against KR (3-3). Fourth ranked Thor Thorl crushed hosts 107-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of KR. The game was mostly controlled by Thor Thorl. KR was better in fourth quarter 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Thor Thorl outrebounded KR 56-29 including a 42-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American point guard Larry Thomas (185-93, college: BSC, agency: SDJ Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 4 assists. British forward Callum Lawson (198-96, college: ACU, agency: Players Group) helped adding 17 points and 14 rebounds. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Thor Thorl players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Thorvaldur Arnason (195-2) responded with 14 points and guard Bjorn Kristjansson (188-92) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Thor Thorl have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. KR at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Valur. Thor Thorl will play against Tindastoll (#9) in Sauoarkrokur in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. KR will play on the road against Haukar in Hafnarfjordur and hopes to get back on the winning track.
