Regular Season Round 7: IR - Haukar 97-83

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked IR (4-2) beat 10th ranked Haukar (1-5) in Reykjavik 97-83 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 58-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. IR looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quite impressive performance for American point guard Evan Singletary (185-94, college: Albany) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 8 assists. His fellow American import guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Coastal) contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four IR players scored in double figures. IR's coach Borche Ilievski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Irish-American forward Brian Fitzpatrick (202-89, college: Bucknell) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds and Spanish-Colombian point guard Hansel Atencia (178-97, college: Master's, agency: Players Group) added 18 points in the effort for Haukar. IR moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Haukar lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with five games lost. IR will face league's second-placed Keflavik on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Haukar will play against KR (#7) and hope to win that game.
