Regular Season Round 18: ViVe - HBA-Marsky 82-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked HBA-Marsky's (5-13) road loss to sixth ranked ViVe (7-11) 74-82. It looked good early as HBA-Marsky took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then ViVe had a 22-10 second period charge getting the lead and HBA-Marsky was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-82. They outrebounded HBA-Marsky 47-36 including 34 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Kayla Gordon (183-95, college: Jacksonville) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 19 rebounds. The other American import guard Doniyah Cliney (182-96, college: S.Carolina) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Forward Silja Viita (185-1) replied with 26 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Kati Ollilainen (173-3) added 11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in the effort for HBA-Marsky. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ViVe maintains sixth position with 7-11 record. HBA-Marsky lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 13 games lost. ViVe will have a break next round. HBA-Marsky will play on the road against the league's second-placed Tapiolan Honka (#2) and hope to win that game.
