Regular Season Round 15: LrNMKY - HyPo 80-63

Very expected game in Lappeenranta where 13th ranked HyPo (5-9) was defeated by fifth ranked LrNMKY (8-6) 80-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by LrNMKY. HyPo was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding HyPo to just 5 points in third quarter. LrNMKY dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to HyPo's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by HyPo's players. It was a great evening for American point guard Aubrey Conerly (183-83, college: Jacksonville) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 9 assists. Guard Vili Kaijansinkko (194-90) helped adding 11 points and 13 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Roy Hinkkanen (182-97) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and center Gezim Bajrami (208-3) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. LrNMKY maintains fifth place in 1st Division with 8-6 record. Loser HyPo dropped to the fourteenth position with nine games lost. LrNMKY will face JyWe (#8) in Jyvaskyla in the next round. HyPo will play on the road against the league's leader FoKoPo (#1) in Forssa and hope to win that game.
