Regular Season Round 18: AZS UW - AZS UMCS 72-104

2Liga top team - AZS UMCS (15-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked AZS UW (7-9) in Warszawa 104-72. They outrebounded AZS UW 45-27 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. AZS UMCS looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by AZS UW's players. Swingman Karol Obarek (194-93) notched 19 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and power forward Mateusz Wisniewski (202-91) supported him with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four AZS UMCS players scored in double figures. Even 9 points and 9 assists by guard Maksymilian Motel (194-0) did not help to save the game for AZS UW. Damian Zapert (197-84) added 12 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS UMCS have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 15-1 record. Loser AZS UW dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. AZS UMCS will meet at home Isetia (#12) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. AZS UW's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Warszawa to the arena Legia 2.
