No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Estepona (10-6) won against on the road 11th ranked Melilla (5-13) 89-85 on Saturday. They outrebounded Melilla 38-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. Center Claudia Calvelo (192-92) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and point guard Clara Caceres (168-97) chipped in 19 points and 8 assists. Brazilian guard Alana Goncalo (166-94) responded with 23 points and 9 assists and Serbian power forward Bojana Stevanovic (180-96) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Estepona and five Melilla players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Estepona. They moved-up to fourth place. Melilla lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Estepona will face Castello (#11) in Castellon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Melilla will play on the road against Unicaja in Malaga and hope to win that game.
