Regular Season Round 9: Oleggio - Cesena 52-57

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Cesena (3-6) beat on the road higher ranked Oleggio (5-4) 57-52 on Saturday. Cesena forced 19 Oleggio turnovers. It was a good game for point guard Emanuele Trapani (184-99) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Swingman Gioacchino Chiappelli (198-91, agency: SLN) contributed with 7 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Guglielmo De-Ros (186-98) answered with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Swiss Olivier Giacomelli (198-95) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Oleggio. Oleggio's coach Franco Passera tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cesena moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 8 other teams. Loser Oleggio dropped to the second position with four games lost. Cesena will face league's second-placed Faenza at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Oleggio will play against Omegna and hope to win that game.
