No shocking result in a game when third ranked Faenza (11-1) won against at home 6th ranked Ponte Bugg. (8-7) 63-53 on Saturday. Point guard Rachele Porcu (170-97) stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Simona Ballardini (181-81) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Sofia Frustaci (176-1) responded with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Lithuanian power forward Laura Zelnyte (193-94) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Faenza maintains third place in A2 with 11-1 record having six points less than leader Udine. Loser Ponte Bugg. dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Faenza will face Patti (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ponte Bugg. will play against the league's second-placed Umbertide and hope to win that game.
