There was no surprise in Badalona where 6th ranked Mataro Parc (2-4) was edged by fourth ranked Maristes A. (3-2) 63-61 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was guard Marti Fonolla (193-96, college: Midland) who scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Center Pol Quintana (198-94) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. Forward David Romero (191-90) produced 7 points and 6 rebounds and Cuban guard Sigal Benitez (193-94) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Maristes A. moved-up to third place in Group C5. Mataro Parc lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with four games lost. Maristes A. will face Sol Girones (#4) in La Bisbal in the next round. Mataro Parc will play on the road against Badalones and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
