Regular Season Round 15: FoKoPo - Huima 88-93

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked FoKoPo (12-4) in Forssa on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Huima (11-5) 93-88. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in 1st Division. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 24-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Huima looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Kavaughn Scott (201-98, college: Loyola, MD) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). Power forward Joni Pohjonen (203-98) helped adding 25 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American guard Gokul Natesan (196-94, college: Colorado Mines, agency: Haylett Sports) with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Jerrell Martin (198-95, college: SHU) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. FoKoPo's coach Antti Joutsimo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Huima moved-up to second place in 1st Division. FoKoPo at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Huima are looking forward to face Team Pajulahti (#11) in Lahti in the next round and are hoping to win another game. FoKoPo will play at home against HyPo (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
