Leader FoKoPo recorded the fourteenth victory on Thursday night. This time they beat 13th ranked Pyrinto Ak.B (6-12) 92-83 in Tampere. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-20. But Pyrinto Ak.B won third quarter 27-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. FoKoPo looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. American forward Jerrell Martin (198-95, college: SHU) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Jesse Lepankoski (193-3) chipped in 20 points. Guard Kion Williams (185-3) produced 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Karo Puittinen (195-99) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four FoKoPo and five Pyrinto Ak.B players scored in double figures. FoKoPo maintains first position in 1st Division with 14-4 record. Loser Pyrinto Ak.B keeps the thirteenth place with 12 games lost. FoKoPo will face Ura Basket II (#10) in Kaarina in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pyrinto Ak.B will play at home against Team Pajulahti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
