Very predictable result when fifth ranked San Vendemiano (6-3) defeated at home 14th ranked Mestre (3-7) 73-62 on Saturday. San Vendemiano forced 19 Mestre turnovers and outrebounded them 41-29 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mestre was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Tommaso Gatto (205-96, agency: Players Group) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Jacopo Vedovato (205-95) chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Filippo Fazioli (192-98, agency: SLN) responded with 14 points and 5 assists and power forward Stefano Spizzichini (203-90) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Mestre players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Vendemiano maintains fifth position in B with 6-3 record. Loser Mestre keeps the fourteenth place with seven games lost. San Vendemiano will face U.
