Regular Season Round 19: MKS DG 2 - AZS PCz 97-70

Not a big story in a game in Dabrowa Gornicza where 9th ranked AZS PCz (7-11) was rolled over by sixth ranked MKS DG 2 (9-8) 97-70 on Saturday. MKS DG 2 outrebounded AZS PCz 47-36 including 39 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Patryk Wieczorek (188-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Pawel Jurczynski (183-91) helped adding 24 points and 4 assists. Four MKS DG 2 players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Nikodem Kowalski (200-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks and guard Kacper Pyrzyna (186-2) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. MKS DG 2 moved-up to fifth place in Group C, which they share with Bielsko-Biala. Loser AZS PCz dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. MKS DG 2 will face league's leader AZS AGH KR in Krakow in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS PCz will play on the road against AZS PWSTE (#7) in Jaroslaw and hope to win that game.
