Very predictable result in Barcelona where second ranked Lima-Horta (17-2) beat 7th ranked Casablanca (8-10) 59-51 on Saturday. Lima-Horta forced 22 Casablanca turnovers and outrebounded them 35-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Maria Martianez (189-97, college: ORU) who scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Eliana Soriano (176-89) chipped in 10 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Beatriz Royo (176-91) who recorded 9 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Elena Cobos (-89) added 11 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lima-Horta have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group C with 17-2 record having just two points less than leader Ferrol. Casablanca lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. Lima-Horta will face Sant Josep (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Casablanca will play against Sant Adria and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Liga Dia just one year after relegation.
