Regular Season Round 16: Algeciras - Moron 75-81

There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Algeciras (5-9) was defeated at home by fourteenth ranked Moron (2-10) 81-75 on Saturday. Moron made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban-Belgian point guard Sigfredo Casero-Ortiz (185-97) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and forward Jose Jimenez (197-96) who added 15 points during the contest. Four Moron players scored in double figures. At the losing side Nigerian center Bola Olaniyan (201-93, college: Alabama) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds and naturalized Gibraltar point guard Miguel Ortega (188-91) scored 28 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Moron maintains fourteenth position in Silver with 2-10 record. Newly promoted Algeciras dropped to the twelfth place with nine games lost. Moron will face higher ranked Gijon (#11) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
