Rather predictable result in Roma where fifth ranked Eurobasket RO (8-6) beat 7th ranked Cento (6-7) 81-75 on Saturday. Eurobasket RO made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Cento was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Roberto Gallinat (191-96, college: Pacific, agency: Players Group) who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!). American-Nigerian Jamal Olasewere (201-91, college: LIU Brooklyn) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Tekele Cotton (188-93, college: Wichita St.) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Cuban guard Yankiel Moreno (187-90) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Cento's coach Matteo Mecacci tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Eurobasket RO moved-up to third place, which they share with Piacenza and Casale. Newly promoted Cento keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Eurobasket RO will face Latina (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cento will play against SAzzurra RO (#13) in Roma and hope to win that game.
