Regular Season Round 19: AZS UMK - SMS PZKosz 73-77

There was a small surprise in Torun where eleventh ranked SMS PZKosz (4-12) defeated 9th ranked AZS UMK (7-9) 77-73 on Saturday. AZS UMK was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for swingman Konrad Szymanski (188-2) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 5 assists. Forward Maciej Gorzelany (195-3) helped adding 10 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side guard Michal Samsonowicz (187-98, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 28 points and 4 assists and guard Jakub Kondraciuk (191-99) scored 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. SMS PZKosz maintains eleventh place in Group A with 4-12 record. Loser AZS UMK keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. SMS PZKosz will face league's second-placed Arka 2 in Gdynia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
