Regular Season Round 15: Leon - Costa Artraba 86-65

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Costa Artraba (0-6) was rolled over on the road by seventh ranked Leon (4-3) 86-65 on Sunday. Leon outrebounded Costa Artraba 43-29 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Leon especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. It was a great evening for swingman Marcos Fernandez (191-99) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Rodrigo Llamas (191-1) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Leon players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Ismael Fernandez (190-93) with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jorge Aller (195-97) scored 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leon moved-up to fourth place in Group A-C. Costa Artraba lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with six games lost. Leon will face Estudiantes L. (#10) in Lugo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Costa Artraba will play at home against the league's second-placed Chantada and hopes to get finally their first victory.
