Regular Season Round 15: Solares - LBC Cocinas 88-68

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed LBC Cocinas (4-4) was rolled over on the road by fifth ranked Solares (5-4) 88-68 on Sunday. Solares outrebounded LBC Cocinas 44-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. LBC Cocinas was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American-British center Kaj-Bjorn Sherman (213-92, college: UTSA) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 18 rebounds. Diego Garcia (192-0) helped adding 31 points. The best for the losing side was guard Borja Arevalo (195-91) with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Brais Gago (180-96) scored 16 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Solares moved-up to fourth place in Group A-A. Newly promoted LBC Cocinas dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Solares will face Easo (#9) in San Sebastian in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. LBC Cocinas will play at home against Ardoi (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
