Regular Season Round 17: Zornotza - Alcobendas 87-63

There was no surprise in Amorebieta-Echano where 14th ranked Alcobendas (3-12) was crushed by fifth ranked Zornotza (9-6) 87-63 on Wednesday. Zornotza looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Iker Salazar (200-93, agency: Promo Sport ID) stepped up and scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners and Dominican power forward Jeromy Rodriguez (201-96, college: ETSU) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Zornotza players scored in double figures. Croatian center Filip Krajina (209-95) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Eduardo Martinez (193-96) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zornotza moved-up to third place in Silver. Newly promoted Alcobendas keeps the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Zornotza will meet Algeciras (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alcobendas will play against Clavijo and hope to secure a win.
