The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Nokia's (10-7) road loss to fourth ranked Vilpas (12-6) in Salo 62-77. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Vilpas's pressure prevailed and they won that period 24-12 extending their advantage to 15 points. American power forward Jeremiah Wood (200-85, agency: Inception Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import forward Ladarien Griffin (200-96, college: St.Bonaventure) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Vilpas' coach Sami Toiviainen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international point guard Antero Lehto (185-84) produced 17 points and 7 assists and forward Lauri Toivonen (200-91, college: UTRGV) added 6 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 12-6 record. Nokia at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Vilpas will have a break next round. Nokia will play on the road against Pyrinto (#3) in Tampere and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
