Very expected game when 12th ranked Helsingborg (1-13) was smashed at home by second ranked Lulea Basket (14-3) 93-62 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Lulea Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Lulea Basket forced 23 Helsingborg turnovers and outrebounded them 49-26 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international forward Allis Nystrom (185-93) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Maggie Lucas (178-91, college: Penn St.) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Lulea Basket players scored in double figures. Greek forward Vasiliki Louka (193-96, college: UNBC) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and forward Mathilda Agren (176-96) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Helsingborg. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Lulea Basket. Despite that victory Lulea Basket went down to third position due to points difference. Helsingborg lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Lulea Basket will face league's leader Alvik Basket in Stockholm in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Helsingborg will play on the road against Norrkoping Dolphins (#5) and hope to win that game.
