No shocking result in a game when third ranked A3 Basket (14-2) beat 7th ranked Sodertalje (8-8) in Umea 83-67 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-67. A3 Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. German guard Emma Stach (175-96, college: Gonzaga) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Lithuanian forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four A3 Basket players scored in double figures. A3 Basket's coach Jan Enjebo used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Dara Taylor (171-91, college: Penn St.) answered with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Canadian forward Anna Dahl (192-98, college: St.Francis X.) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Sodertalje. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for A3 Basket. They moved-up to second place. Loser Sodertalje dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. A3 Basket will face Hogsbo (#4) in Goteborg in the next round. Sodertalje will play at home against Uppsala and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
