The game in Sauoarkrokur was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Grindavik (5-5) played at the court of eighth ranked Tindastoll (5-5). Tindastoll managed to secure a 7-point victory 88-81 on Thursday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Grindavik won fourth quarter 28-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tindastoll looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Shawn Glover (201-90, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Croatian-American guard Nikolas Tomsick (185-91, college: Fort Lewis) chipped in 22 points and 7 assists. The former international swingman Thorleifur Olafsson (192-84) produced 15 points and 7 assists and Estonian forward Joonas Jarvelainen (202-90) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tindastoll moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Grindavik. Grindavik lost third consecutive game. Tindastoll will meet higher ranked Stjarnan (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Grindavik will play against Valur and hope to secure a win.
