Regular Season Round 24: Valencia - Promete 74-61

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Promete (7-13) was defeated on the road by second ranked Valencia (20-1) 74-61 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Queralt Casas (177-92) who scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. International center Laura Gil (190-92) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Valencia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Montenegrin power forward Bojana Kovacevic (191-96) who recorded 5 points and 13 rebounds and Senegalese center Maimouna Diarra (198-91) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Promete's coach Cesar Aneas let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Valencia have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 20-1 record behind leader Avenida. Loser Promete dropped to the twelfth place with 13 games lost. Valencia will face Al-Qazeres (#15) in Caceres in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Promete will play at home against Socinsa Bembibre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
