Regular Season Round 16: BDU Tsmoki - Gomel 84-48

Very expected game when 8th ranked Gomel (1-15) was smashed by fourth ranked BDU Tsmoki (7-9) in Minsk 84-48 on Thursday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. BDU Tsmoki dominated on the defensive end, holding Gomel to just 4 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Gomel's 24. BDU Tsmoki forced 43 Gomel turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Natallia Dashkevich (188-88) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Anastasiya Sushchyk (160-97) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Anna Hatskevich (180-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and guard Maryna Rakauskaya-Minkevich (173-92) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Gomel. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BDU Tsmoki maintains fourth position with 7-9 record. Gomel lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. BDU Tsmoki are looking forward to face COR Victoria (#6) in Brest in the next round. Gomel will play on the road against Victoria in Grodno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
