Regular Season Round 16: Olimpia - COR Victoria 82-42

Rather predictable result when third ranked Olimpia (12-4) rolled over 6th ranked COR Victoria (5-11) in Grodno 82-42 on Thursday. The game without a history. Olimpia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding COR Victoria to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Olimpia forced 20 COR Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 58-33 including a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by COR Victoria's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Olimpia made 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for international point guard Yuliya Vasilevich (165-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Yana Iahnovets (169-1) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Forward Anastasia Golovchiner (184-2) replied with 17 points and Daria Panasyuk (176-96) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for COR Victoria. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olimpia have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 12-4 record having just three points less than leader Gorizont. Loser COR Victoria dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Gorizont 2. Olimpia are looking forward to face league's leader Gorizont in Minsk in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. COR Victoria will play at home against BDU Tsmoki (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
