Everything went according to plan in Madrid where seventh ranked Basquet (8-7) outscored 10th ranked Real Canoe (2-11) 93-68 on Friday. Basquet dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Real Canoe's 20. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Real Canoe's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Venezuelan forward Michael Carrera (196-93, college: S.Carolina, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 7 rebounds and American-Dominican Eddy Polanco (190-94, college: SE Louisiana) who added 18 points during the contest. At the losing side swingman Miguel Gonzalez (201-99) responded with 17 points and British power forward Daniel Clark (210-88) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Basquet moved-up to sixth place. Loser Real Canoe keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. Basquet will face Huesca (#9) on the road in the next round. Real Canoe will play against Girona and hope to win that game.
