There was a surprise result in Lugo where tenth ranked Estudiantes L. (2-5) edged one of their biggest challengers Leon (4-4) 81-79 on Saturday. Estudiantes L. forced 19 Leon turnovers. Strangely Leon outrebounded Estudiantes L. 33-18 including 22 on the defensive glass. Leon was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Mateo Sanchez (188-99) fired 30 points for the winners. Papa Njie chipped in 15 points. Swingman Marcos Fernandez (191-99) produced 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Rodrigo Llamas (191-1) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Leon players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Estudiantes L. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams.
