Regular Season Round 19: UCAM Jairis - Almeria 73-53

Very predictable result when second ranked UCAM Jairis (12-5) rolled over 10th ranked Almeria (7-10) in Alcantarilla 73-53 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for Latvian center Marta Miscenko (193-95, college: Wingate) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Power forward Rut Marin (188-94) contributed with 13 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four UCAM Jairis players scored in double figures. Argentinian point guard Macarena Durso (162-91) answered with 23 points and power forward Alicia Gonzalez (187-86) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Almeria. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. UCAM Jairis maintains second place in Group B with 12-5 record having eleven points less than leader Ferrol. Almeria lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. UCAM Jairis will face Alcobendas (#5) on the road in the next round. Almeria will play against Melilla (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
