Very expected game when 9th ranked Arxil Pontevedra (5-13) lost at home to fifth ranked Plasencia (14-5) 60-49 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for American forward Princess Aghayere (183, college: Pennsylvania) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Her fellow American import forward Stacia Robertson (188-92, college: High Point) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Noelia Masia (183-98) answered with 10 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Heather Forster (188-96, college: Albany) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Arxil Pontevedra. The victory was the third consecutive win for Plasencia. They moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Rioja. Arxil Pontevedra lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Plasencia will face Cortegada (#11) in Vilagarcia Arousa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arxil Pontevedra will play on the road against Adareva in Laguna and hope to win that game.
