Very expected game when 15th ranked Al-Qazeres (4-18) was smashed by second ranked Valencia (21-1) in Caceres 74-53. Valencia dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Al-Qazeres' 28. Valencia forced 19 Al-Qazeres turnovers. American center Celeste Trahan-Davis (186-85, college: ECSU, agency: LBM Management) stepped up and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and the former international swingman Queralt Casas (177-92) chipped in 7 points and 4 assists. Valencia's coach Ruben Burgos felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Cypriot-Greek swingman Eleanna Christinaki (183-96, college: Maryland) responded with 15 points and Russian center Anna Pachurina (195-95) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Valencia. They maintain second place with 21-1 record behind leader Avenida. Al-Qazeres at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with 18 games lost. Valencia will play against Araski (#9) in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al-Qazeres will play on the road against Socinsa Bembibre (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
