Regular Season Round 11: Roseto - Ancona 83-87

There was a minor upset when 4th placed Roseto (7-4) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Ancona (7-4) 87-83 on Sunday. Ancona shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was forward Gianmarco Leggio (202-94) who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Simone Centanni (187-91) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. Swingman Jacopo Lucarelli (197-96, agency: Players Group) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Serbian Aleksa Nikolic (205-99) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Ancona and four Roseto players scored in double figures. Ancona moved-up to second place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Roseto. Ancona will face Teramo (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Roseto will play against Giulianova (#11) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Serie A2 just one year after relegation.
